We all know that we should breathe deeper and more easily. When we do breathe better after a good walk we feel much better in ourselves. Why should our normal breathing be so shallow and inefficient as we go about our daily tasks ?

If we make an effort to try and breathe deeper, the effort quickly gets in the way. This is exacerbated in the case of Asthmatics and this kind of effort can bring an attack.

When F.M.Alexander first taught his technique, he was known as, “The Breathing Man “ because of the great, natural improvements in breathing that his clients experienced. Many of his early pupils were famous actors and they recognized the importance of good breathing for public speaking.

In your Alexander Technique sessions you will learn how to allow enough space in your body for good effortless breathing to occur naturally. Alexander Technique is particularly helpful for people with respiratory problems but it will also improve breathing in general.
