Brighton is an ideal place to study
Alexander Technique. It has the sort of relaxed but vibrant and inspirational
character that is a must for enjoyable study. Brighton is popular with
the students of it's two universities many of whom choose to settle in
Brighton. Brighton has many private schools, including the world renowned
Roedean School for Girls and numerous language and business schools.
Part of Brighton's popularity is down to it's accessibility. It is less than
an hour from London, and just half an hour by road and rail from London's Gatwick
air port. Significantly, life in Brighton is a lot more affordable than in
the capital just up the road.
Once in central Brighton everything you could possibly
need is in walking distance, which could be an important consideration
if you plan to get out and about whilst studying Alexander Technique.
Cosmopolitan and eccentric, Brighton is the UK's most famous sea side resort.
It has a mild maritime climate and a long promenade with a shingle beach little
more than a stones throw from the Brighton School For Alexander Technique.
The beach is the ideal antidote to study.
Brighton boasts splendid Regency architecture set against the dramatic backdrop
of the south downs. With more shops per capita than any where else in the UK,
at least one pub for each day of the year, restaurants, cafés and plenty
of varied accommodation, there is something for everyone.
Brighton's most famous land mark is the Royal Pavilion, the extravagant home
of the man who put Brighton on the map, the then Prince of Wales, Prince Regent
and finally King George the IV. He fell in love with Brighton on his first
visit in 1787 and more than thirty years and £500,000 later the Royal
Pavilion in all it's oriental splendor was completed.
Brighton boasts a thriving Arts scene, with an international festival in May
each year.
